What is Cetrotide™
Cetrotide™ is a medication known as a gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist and is used to prevent premature ovulation in women undergoing fertility procedures.
How Do I Use Cetrotide™?
Here are step-by-step instructions for taking Cetrotide™ (cetrorelix) injections:

| Cetrotide™ is injected subcutaneously—or into the fatty tissue under your skin. The primary sites for injection are your abdomen—2 inches on either side of the navel, and your upper, outer-thigh where the skin is loose. Wash your hands thoroughly and make sure that the surface you work on is clean. |

Flip off the plastic cover of the vial and wipe the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab.
|
|
|
Put the injection needle with the yellow mark (20 gauge) on the pre-filled syringe.
|
|
|
Push the needle through the rubber stopper of the vial and slowly inject the solvent into the vial. Leaving the syringe in the vial, gently swirl the vial until the solution is clear. Avoid making bubbles. Do not shake.

|
Invert the vial and pull back the needle as far as needed to withdraw all of the liquid in the vial. You might not be able to withdraw every drop.
|
|
Replace the yellow marked needle with the (27 gauge) ½ inch syringe.
|
|
|
With the needle pointing toward the ceiling, flick the side of the syringe to disperse any air bubbles and the air pocket at the top of the syringe, then gently push the plunger until one or two drops of liquid are expressed to make sure you have eliminated any air.

¿Cómo utilizo Cetrotide™?

| Cetrotide™ se inyecta de manera subcutánea o en el tejido graso debajo de la piel. Los lugares principales para la inyección son el abdomen (2 pulgadas a cualquier lado del ombligo) y el muslo superior y externo, donde la piel está floja. Lávese bien las manos y asegúrese de que la superficie sobre la que trabaja esté limpia. |

Remueva la cubierta de plástico del vial y limpie el tapón de goma con un hisopo con alcohol.
|
|
|
Coloque la aguja de la inyección con la marca amarilla (calibre 20) en la jeringa precargada.
|
|
|
Presione la aguja a través del tapón de goma del vial e inyecte el solvente en el vial lentamente. Sin sacar la jeringa del vial, haga girar el vial suavemente hasta que la solución se aclare. Evite la formación de burbujas. No agite.
|
|
|
Invierta el vial y tire de la aguja tan lejos como sea necesario para extraer todo el líquido del vial. Es posible que no pueda retirar absolutamente todo.

Reemplace la aguja marcada con amarillo con la jeringa de ½ pulgada (calibre 27).
|
|
|
Con la aguja apuntando hacia el techo, golpee suavemente el costado de la jeringa para disipar cualquier burbuja de aire y la bolsa de aire de la parte superior de la jeringa. Luego, suavemente, presione el émbolo hasta que se expulsen una o dos gotas de líquido, para asegurarse de haber eliminado cualquier resto de aire.
